Become a Member of the UMN Pre-Med Chapter
UMN students who are interested in joining should:
- Sign up for our weekly emails here!
- Attend our meetings Wednesdays at 5 PM in HSEC 3-110
- Register with the National American Medical Student Association here to receive the full benefits of being an AMSA member (this is not required but strongly recommended! Read more below)

Types of Membership
Students have the option of becoming either a local or a national AMSA Member. To become a local AMSA member in our chapter, you just need to sign up for our emails using the link above! Students interested in becoming a nationally recognized AMSA member should register here.
National Membership
+ Only level of membership recognized by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM)
+ Attend meetings, volunteer opportunities, all special events and opportunities, and trips to National AMSA Conventions
+ Receive weekly emails about events and opportunities on campus and in the community
+ Apply for executive board positions
+ Track AMSA bucks total and membership status on CV’s, resumes, and medical school applications
+ Receive FREE MCAT study materials, discount codes from Kaplan and apply for Kaplan MCAT course scholarships
Local Membership
+ Attend weekly meetings, volunteer opportunities, and most local chapter events and opportunities
+ Receive weekly emails about events and opportunities on campus and in the community
**Local level of membership is not recognized by the AAMC or AACOM and can not be used in medical school applications**
